Disney has just released a short video showcasing the new Copper Creek Villas and Cabins that will be joining the Wilderness Lodge on July 17th! After a small press event yesterday, first hand impressions are coming out that rave about the quality and theming of the new villas and cabins.
While this is slated as a DVC expansion, any guests booking a Disney vacation can reserve these accommodations just as you could a typical resort room. The expansion simply allows DVC members to buy into that particular resort in the vacation club system.
The new offerings feature theming based on Pacific Northwest railroad operations and a subtle nod towards Walt Disney’s love of steam engines and railroads overall. The villas will be available in many formats featuring the typical 1, 2, and 3 – bedroom offerings, as is typical of Disney villas. Of course, the crown jewell of the expansion is the new cabins. The cabins are two bedroom and two bathroom accommodations complete with a beautiful porch, fireplace, and private hot tub overlooking the water of Bay Lake!
Around July 4th of this year, I will be staying at the Wilderness Lodge for about a week. So, once we arrive, we’ll take you along with us to explore what we can see of the expansion right before it officially debuts on July 17th (expect photos). The Geyser Point dining location and bar has already debuted and is receiving outstanding reviews. The atmosphere created by the location’s theming and placement near the water looks to set up an outstanding dining experience. The overall food focuses on quick service dining, but also offers a full drink menu and bar. We’ll certainly share some images and maybe even a review of that particular location while staying at the resort.
Here’s a look at what Disney just released:
If you’d like to say hello while we’re at WDW (July 1st – 8th), feel free to let me know and we’ll see what we can do! If there’s enough interest we may consider a meet-up event.
A few short years ago, I was sitting in a college apartment trying to figure out what was "next" and came up with this idea to share my accumulated knowledge of the Disney Parks and Resorts with others. The end goal was to help others make the most of their Disney experience and it's been quite the journey!
