If you’re here for Disney tips or travel planning facts, I ask that you please humor me with this article because in all reality it’s something that I find important, but isn’t quite as Disney related as some of my other content.

I’ve been doing some thinking (that’s never good lol), and this concept of showing people you care about them is something that’s been on my mind and keeps resurfacing time and time again. So, what’s a rational person do… write about it on the internet??? … ok, maybe that’s not so rational but if I’m lucky it might help someone else along the way.

I share this because I think it relates to the “Disney” experience so many of us experience at the parks and resorts. When we’re in the parks, we’re so apt and willing to tell those around us that we’re having a blast with them, we’re creating memories with them, and that those moments mean the world to us. However, when we get back home we act like it’s just another day. While Disney fosters some incredible moments I truly believe it’s important to share with and tell people in your life that you care about them.

At the end of the day, that’s what means so much to so many of us about the “Disney” experience. If we’re honest with ourselves, it’s not the attractions or even Disney itself that means something to us, but rather the feelings it evokes and the experience’s we get to share with those that mean so much to us. I’m incredibly lucky to do what I do because I get to be surround by wonderful, like minded, people in this community that help me stay positive.

That positivity always helps me keep in the top of my mind the information that I can share and the stuff that’s really worth sharing instead of what’s going to drive page views.

So often we go through life and take the blessing of life for granted and in an even more important way, we take the people in our lives for granted. Don’t wait for your Disney vacation to roll around to tell people in your life that you care about them. Make it a habit every single day. Life works in weird ways but when you take a few seconds out of your day to be nice to someone and show them that you care about them, it’s the greatest investment you can make in another human being.

Think about it. You never know what people are facing each day. That one moment of telling them thank you or sharing that one moment of kindness may be the one thing that makes their bad day just a little bit better. The simplest thing you can do in life is to be kind to other people. It sounds corny and almost like a soliloquy to Mr. Rogers, but being kind really can make a difference and more often than not it only takes 5 seconds to make someone’s day with a word of kindness. It doesn’t matter if it’s the cashier at the grocery store, or a person you’ve known your whole life, a certain level of caring goes further than you would ever expect. All it takes is living that “Disney” mindset every day or at least borrowing a tiny portion of that mindset and applying it to daily life.

I’m by no means perfect at this but I think it’s important to share when we’re all too often surrounded by negativity in today’s world. Be different, be kind, tell people you care about them, and you’ll be surprised how positive your life becomes. Kindness really does reciprocate and it can make all the difference in the world.

I challenge you to start today by sharing something nice with one person in your life. Be it family, be it a friend, or be it the random person you come in contact with today. Just give it a shot and see what happens. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
